Contestants must purchase a 3-day pass to be eligible for Friday’s contest. Contestants must purchase any event pass to be eligible for Sunday’s contest.

To be considered as a contestant on Double Dog Dare, you must complete the Official Rules and Waiver Form (below).  Participants must be 10 years or older to be eligible to be Contestants.  Only persons 18 years or older can complete the Waiver Form; a parent or legal guardian 18 years or older must complete the Official Rules and Waiver Form for children under 18 years of age.

When you’ve read, completed and signed the Waiver Form, hit ‘Submit’ and it will be entered into the database for each event.

When you arrive at the venue, go to the Registration Table to verify that you’ve completed Official Rules and Waiver form, and present a valid photo ID and you and any family members that you registered will be given event badges which indicate to the show’s host that you are eligible to be a contestant on stage.

The Contestant hereby warrants and represents that the information provided in this Release and Waiver is true and correct and acknowledges and agrees that it will be relied upon to determine Contestant’s eligibility to participate in the contest made by Yellow City Comic Convention. Yellow City Comic Convention shall collectively be referred to herein as “Companies”.

By signing this Release and Waiver and being selected as a Contestant, Contestant represents and warrants that Contestant is at least eighteen (18) years old and accepts and agrees to the terms and conditions of this Release and Waiver.  As to Contestants not yet eighteen (18) years of age, their parents/legal guardians, accept and agree to be bound by the terms and conditions of this Release and Waiver.  The participation of Contestant is expressly conditioned upon the acceptance of this Release and Waiver and compliance with these terms and conditions.  The Companies, or persons acting for or on their behalf, may photograph and/or record Contestant, and may use the photographs and/or recordings, Contestant’s name, city and state of residence, voices or likeness (collectively, “personality”) for the purpose of advertising and publicizing the Companies throughout the universe, in all media, in perpetuity, without compensation other than participation in the Show except where prohibited by law.  Contestant acknowledges and agrees that participation in the Show is non-transferable and non-redeemable for cash, and that no substitutions are available to Contestant. Companies may, in their sole discretion, make any changes to the Show at any time.

Companies and their respective parents, divisions, subsidiaries, affiliates, and each of their respective directors, officers, employees, agents, vendors, subcontractors, licensees and agencies (collectively, the “Released Parties”) have not arranged for and do not carry any insurance for the benefit of any Contestant, or their successors, executors, beneficiaries, heirs, trustees and administrators relative to Contestant’s participation in and use of the Show; and each Contestant, is solely responsible for obtaining and paying for any life, accident, property or other insurance relative to Contestant’s participation in the Show.

Contestant HEREBY RELEASES the Released Parties from and against any and all claims which he or she or his or her successors, executors, beneficiaries, heirs, trustees, employers, and administrators (collectively, the “Releasing Parties”) may now have or at any time after the date hereof may have for any and all harm, including invasion of privacy, violation of right of publicity, defamation, misrepresentation, negligence, illness, personal injury, death, property damage or destruction, accident, or any other cause of action whatsoever and all costs or expenses related thereto arising out of or concerning the Show, participation in and use of the Show, any related merchandise, and any advertising, marketing, or promotion thereof including, without limitation, the exploitation of Contestant’s personality as provided for herein (collectively, “Claims”)

CONTESTANT ALSO UNDERSTANDS THAT CONTESTANT’S PARTICIPATION IN THE SHOW CAN BE DANGEROUS AND INVOLVE THE RISK OF INJURY AND DEATH. Contestant acknowledges that the decision to participate in the Show and such assumption of risk is voluntary and not the result of coercion, pressure, or undue influence by the Companies.  Furthermore, to the fullest extent allowed by law, Contestant AGREES NEVER TO SUE AND TO RELEASE FROM LIABILITY THE RELEASED PARTIES for any damage, injury, or death to Contestant arising from or related to participation in the Show, regardless of cause, including the alleged negligence of the Released Parties.  Contestant understands that this release of liability will prevent Contestant, or Contestant’s heirs, from filing suit or making any claim for damages in the event of injury or death arising from Contestant’s participation in the Show.  CONTESTANT UNDERSTANDS THIS IS A RELEASE OF LIABILITY AND AGREES THAT IT IS VALID FOREVER, and will apply throughout the Show. Additionally, Contestant agrees that this release will be admissible into evidence.
